Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me. I love rainy days. I don't like the sun. I've found that most people seem to be the opposite and crave sunshine and actually dislike the cloudy days. But, for me, when it's rainy and overcast, my mind, for some reason, is better attuned to the writing process. I can think better and, at least I think, write better dialogue, characters and plot. My ancestry is basically Scottish, so maybe it's in my genes to like the miserable weather. I just feel better when the weather changes from sun to gloom. Now, I don't want to think that my personality is gloomy, because I don't think it is! I'm generally a happy, fun-loving person, I just prefer the rain. To me, walking along the beach when there's a light drizzle is exhilerating. Looking out at the still ocean fills me up emotionally and gives me such a feeling of well-being. I'm sure if I lived where there was nothing but rain, I'd likely get tired of it, maybe. But for now, I'm going to cherish my rainy days.
