Creative Author Influences Passionate Discussion Through Writing “Let The Willows Weep” author Sherry Parnell Discovers Life Through Her Characters

October 25, 2011 – Phoenix, Arizona –- Sherry Parnell has always had a pure and
passionate love for writing. Starting with one line, a momentary thought or the inspiration
of the solitary color red, Parnell writes to shed light on the deepest corner of truth within
her readers.

From early childhood, Parnell’s family established an environment that cultivated
creativity and nurtured dreams to come true. Parnell found writing was her way to turn
every fantasy into a tangible reality.  “I discovered stories and their power to allow one to write any life one desired,” affirms Parnell.

Her passion and love for words turned Parnell into a voracious reader of authors like
Jane Austen, the Brontes and Willa Cather. She quickly realized at an early age that she
wanted nothing more than to become an established writer and novelist. Parnell pursued
a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Dickinson College and continued on to earn a
Graduate degree in Literature from West Chester University.

Now a soon to be second-time mother and full-time literary fiction writer, Parnell uses
her love of character development to influence and shape her writing. Finding inspiration
from the world at large, Parnell seeks to create characters in her stories who are strong
enough to take center stage and elicit discussions that cause people to open their minds
to vastly different perspectives.

“I strive to create work which incites readers to talk about subjects which may be difficult
to discuss in order to understand and respect another person’s perspective,” states
Parnell. “I am not trying to change my audience’s opinions or beliefs but rather show
them another point of view so that they can recognize and understand their own
prejudices and biases. I believe it is only through the open and supportive sharing of
ideas, opinions, and feelings that we each can join in a shared humanity.”

Her most recent work, "Let the Willows Weep", explores the trenches of love and loss
between mother and daughter across generations, creating a forum for conversation
about topics ranging from classism to familial relationships. Parnell writes to connect the
essence of life experience with a story that captivates and moves her audience.

Let the Willows Weep (ISBN 978-1-60910-295-1) can be purchased on the Booklocker,
Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites for a retail price of $16.95 for paperback and
$3.99 for eBook.

Captivated by books at an early age, Sherry began creating worlds of her own into which
she could escape, dream, and live for a moment outside of her own life. Now this
passion has become her profession with the release of her first novel, "Let the Willows
Weep". An alumnus of Dickinson College and West Chester University, Parnell lives with
her husband and son in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, where she is a full-time writer
working on her second novel.
