I'm southern, black, and female. I'm middle age, but only if I live to be 110. I used to teach high school, but for my midlife crisis, I decided to go to law school. I currently work as a staff attorney at my state legislature, writing digest summaries of pending legislation. I enjoy the law, but being a lawyer is just my disguise--I'm really an unpublished writer and poet. I'm working on the publishing part. I write a blog called The Examined Life in which I share my observations on the human condition. I laugh whenever possible because the alternative is going mad. It works for the most part, but on occasion I cross over through the looking glass. So far, I always find my way back.
