Sheri Ackerman's Biography

I've been writing since the age of 12 and have been a lifelong reader. My writing usually has generally been in the areas of poetry, short stories and life-based essays.  My preferences in reading usually run to literary fiction, mystery/suspense and some nonfiction.

I spent 37 years with the US Govt in the Washington, DC area, where much of my writing was in the form of technical manuals on how to write, clear and publish Govt. regulations. Scintillating stuff! :)

I am now happily retired and living in a smallish beach community in Delaware, where I try to strike a happy balance between being of service (volunteering) and being a lazy beach bum retiree.  For years, I planned to write and volunteer when I retired, with writing being primary.  As it has turned out so far, it has been the other way around.  I need to get into a routine with writing a little bit every day.

I was excited to hear about Redroom.com from a friend since it covers both reading and writing and I have a great love of both.
