Funny is in the eye of the beholder.

Schandenfreude means to enjoy fun in the pain of others.

You never know what is going to make a person online LTAO. Me personally, my humor is pretty damn sick and dark. I'm not going to preface that last sentence with anything like "Keep in mind I (some story to try to soften having a sick dark sense of humor) or Granted (some statistic to soften my sick and dark sense of humor).

No. I have a deeply dark, twisted sense of humor. I like that. I like that a lot.

Where I like to get my Schandenfreude kicks? It's not generally with the easy target online. It's too easy to post some piece of video where it is so shockingly bad and horrible and add some relatively offensive wording to it. Way too easy.

I want to poke fun at the person who does it and see exactly how *Dark and Twisted they really are* The best way of doing it: Make fun of them posting a video that we all know is just really painful and horrible to the point of laughter.

Sometimes, it takes less than an hour for the "Let's all calm down here" comments to happen. I love that. Oooo...you do some hating...then you want peace in the valley when you are called out?

That is funny in my eyes. YAY! That's funnier than the video!

There is nothing funnier to me than seeing people *Playing like they are dark and edgy*. Swear to god, you can mess with someone like this really good if you even give them a whiff of "I'm offended"

That's Schandenfreude, baby. That's the best. It's the *five, four, three, two, one...wait for it...I DID NOTHING WRONG* It's the three second beat pause to "But it's funny! Leave me alone!"

Well, so is me sitting here smiling to myself watching you twist. Because deep inside you know that the reason videos online go viral like "Man Holding Teacup" and "Black Transsexuals Applying at McDonalds" or "Talentless Girl with Zither" and "Painful Little Girl on National Television with Women Looking on in Pain" videos are funny because they are so "Jaw Drop Wrong and Horrible"

Chicks falling into water fountains while texting is funny because of its stupidity. It would have been even funnier if it was not uploaded from the security camera and uploaded from her wet phone onto YouTube. *She took the time to upload her stupid* so we can *all watch the stupid*  You in turn took the time to post it and say "HA HA!"

The stupid things we do we can now see online.  We don't have to wait for America's Funniest Home Videos anymore.  We wait for our cats to jump into boxes.  We teach our kids to swear like sailors to put it into .wmv.  Sure, that is what it is.  The funny part everyone is missing is the person setting up the camera to catch a cat jump into the box and the dad who spent three hours to teach his own child the word "Poon Tang" because he knows someone like you is going to make it go viral.  Even if he has no idea that you are watching it for the irony. 

It's a vicious cycle of hilarity.

We post these on Twitter and Facebook. We share them around. They become Top News Feeds. When you live in the world of comedy like I do and ten years in San Francisco...my Facebook News Feed is a wonderful cross of "Fuck, did you see what Rush said" Combined with "Soul Train Dancers" and a video gone viral someone pulled off of YouTube, put Auto tune behind and reloaded. The newest trend: "Slow down the Video and reloop for Maximum Nightmare WIN"

All of this is amazingly dark and twisted, and I love it. That's what brethren dark twisted friends are for. But live it if you wish to play this game. Be full on prepared to have your same friends "Mess With you for putting up something we all know is funny because it is inherently messed up"

We are assholes here making fun of the sad and pathetic. Assholes with dark senses of humor.

The moment I post a video that is something so societally devoid, verges on showing horrible cringing stereotypes that are *not parody* or something that should be easily labeled as offensive, disquieting or under the Head Topic "Why did they make this (child/disabled person/) actually do this"is because it is funny.  I expect my friends who are not dark and twisted to proclaim "What the fuck was THAT??"  It is even better when my friends who are say it.  Because we are both laughing at it.

Funny because it is just plain horrible. Past the point of being horrified to a gutteral laugh reflex you just cannot help.

This week Rush Limbaugh decided to make fun of about a few billion people's language with a nice assist offending a few billion others by saying he could not tell Chinese from Japanese.  Him filling his chair hoping he will be cast in the newest Charlie Chan short.  None of his producers hipping Rush that they no longer cast fat white guys for those roles not since, well, 1950.

Brethren who never really writes here (Yea. That is sort of funny) Stephen Colbert said last night regarding Rush Limbaugh doing an impression of the Chinese President (that everyone is in a dither about) that he was stealing his character "Ching Chong Ding Dong" and showed the video clip of him doing this character...complaining in length that Rush has other awesome characters like "Black Guy" (him saying he knows Negro Dialect trying to impersonate Al Sharpton) and "Parkinson Guy" (him shaking in his chair in the Michael J. Fox incident).

(Fake Laugh) It's funny because its incurable! - Stephen Colbert.

No truer words are spoken Mr. King of Schandenfreude, and the Writing Schandenfreude Quintet. There is nothing funnier than making fun of someone who fails at *making fun of people* Colbert wins.  Tip of the Hat, Sir.  No Aplha Dog you choose for any week of the year will ever outdo you or your writers wonderful low sand dragging balls.

Rush is Stephen's Schandenfreude Muse. Translate Rush doing offensive gibberish Chinese with a professional sounding woman saying "My favorite doughnut is *every doughnut*" and wait for Mr. Limbaugh to defend himself and tell everyone to calm down in ...five, four,three, two...

That's when it become *really funny* for me. It's funny to point out that what we are laughing at is indeed really fucked up.

For me its hilarious when I see videos in my News Feeds and immediately make fun of the poster. The video speaks for itself.  The intent is somethng worth minng for comedy gold.  Some of favorite comments (or reposts) lies around the horrible truth of why this video is so funny to people with real dark twisted senses of humor:

"We should play these two women applying for jobs at the Language Center!" -Two women who should never apply for a job at a Language Center or never be part of a commercial for a Job Fair

"Give a brother in a dress a break!" - Painful Transvestite Black Man Story about Applying at McDonalds. (where I cannot find the link of that for the life of me).

It's always funnier when I say this stuff on a comment sections like the ones above. Considering I'm you know..black and all. It's hilarious when I'm generally the last one to post and no one knows what to say.  Especially if the person posting is not African American.

I like when it gets DELETED. It's extra Schandenfraude points if I get an email about it! Triple the points if the mail says "I'm sorry" or "Are you okay" Quadruple the points to an email that is now offended by them feeling I'm offended!  You might not wish to send me those.  You have given me at least three minutes of standup.

If you post a video of a slow down nightmare remix of a video gone viral of a talentless little girl made up to look like a grown woman's first change at a Vegas Show into the second change of boob tassles...singing some slightly overtly sexual lyrics in front of horrified grown women on a show that is blatant in stealing the name of another female talk show not even questioning why this is darkly twisted and funny: Creepy Beauty Pageant stuff bordering close to Child Abuse? I'm going to gutteral laugh at the darkness of this video then post this comment:

The original is as though you are watching a parent/teacher meeting and one of the women *had to have* their little girl do Baby Got Back during it and everyone is just waiting for this to be over to get back to the business of dealing with... "Crazy Janitor McGaney" who all the kids call "The Cookie Monster" and half the kids are drawing pictures of eating cookies while crying.

 I will blatantly say what everyone is thinking and just too afraid to take it all the way: Cats jumping in boxes have more talent than this kid.  We have screwed this kid for the rest of her life.  From the parents who dressed her like this, to the producers who put her on national television to the women sitting behind her rolling their eyes in pain...to the moment we slowed her down into a horrible nightmare.  We will wonder why this girl is so fucked up at 26 years old.  It is then when I will repost this video on your Facebook 10.0.   I will write underneath it:  (Fake Laugh) Oh it's still funny because it ended up in child services!
  It's what most of us are thinking when we post things that are funny because of how horrible it is. It's funny because it is dark.
Sure, it's wrong I'm laughing outrageously at it...then at you.  I want to know how dark it can *really get*  It's wrong.  I agree.  Granted, and keep in mind (fill in wrongness with dark and twisted Schandenfreude sense of humor excuse).
