Me again. Still plotting my way through Mangroves and Monsters. Making pretty good headway, and hope to be finished by February's end.
I'm also collaborating on a children's book with Stephen G. Sisco tentatively titled Katie's Lucky Leaves. Stephen will also put his gifted hands to the illustrations. We're hoping for a successful collaboration, of course, and many future projects. Fingers crossed.
In honor of all you Valentines out there and our February wedding anniversary, the featured story on my website this month is "Dancing With My Best Friend." The story appeared in the lovely anthology A Cup of Comfort for Weddings: Something Old, Something New, edited by Helen Kay Polaski and published by Adams Media in 2007.
Forty-two years. . .my, my! It seems but an eye's blink.
If you are lucky enough, blessed enough, fated enough to find love, latch onto it. It is indeed a rare and beautiful thing. Marriage is hard, but rewarding work. For certain, those of us who commit should sometimes be committed. I believe the key to a successful relationship, be it marriage or otherwise, is friendship. You have to, not only love your partner, but truly like them - "feet of clay" and all.
Oh, she's getting maudlin. . .
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story. Here's a photo of me and my guy. As always, take care of yourselves. Find happiness where you can.
