The idea for this book came about as Peggy Thompson and I started to discover each other’s work. When Peggy suggested that we do this book and use as captions, words from my book, The Living Tao, I knew we would have a winner. The only difficulties we encountered in the creation of this work was how many and which pictures and what sayings to use and the 3000 mile distance between us. The photographs in this book were enough to cause me to want to visit the Pacific Northwest. Peggy resides in Tacoma, Washington and is blessed to have unparalleled scenic beauty surrounding her. To the east is the majestic titan Mt Rainier and the never ending Cascade Mountains taking up most of the horizon. To the west are the no less beautiful Olympic Mountains with the many channeled inlets of Puget Sound running in between the two directions. One can go from sea level to 6000 ft in just a few hours drive. Peggy finds much nature to photograph right in her own backyard at some of her favorite community parks and attractions. You will discover some of these local spots in many of the photos in the book along with some of the more grandeur areas and national parks of the Northwest.
