Hanshi Kaufman was inducted into the World Karate Union's 16th Hall of Fame annual awards ceremony on June 11, 2011 and where he received recognition as Martial Arts Book Author of the Year. He was presented with a superb plaque indicating same.

The prestigious organization founded by Grandmaster Frank Tasetano, President, and Kathi Tasetano, vice-president, has become one of the most important martial arts events in the world. Along with the untiring efforts of the WKU Board of Directors makes this the place to be in June. The WKU also celebrates the noble contributions by the United States Armed Forces and the event is always opened with a color guard of U.S. Marines.
