Exposures A-Z: The Ins & Outs of Metering
with exposure expert and master photographer Sean Arbabi
Saturday, October 29 • 12:00 PM - 6:15 PM
Most people are overwhelmed by the subject of exposure. Our goal for this class is explain it in a way that makes sense, in a process you can learn from. By the end of Sean's Powerpoint-style presentation, you’ll have gained the knowledge to feel more comfortable handling all types of exposures, producing fewer images that turn out too dark or too bright. With cameras in hand and perfect exposures as our goal, we will join commercial photographer and author Sean Arbabi as he shares his special charm and leads us on a visual quest for incredible photographs.
Topics will include: shutter speeds and apertures; metering; the concept of middle grey; how your camera meter is fooled; white balance, histogram, and how to battle difficult lighting situations. He will also offer a variety of content in combination with his knowledge and examples of work.
Our class lecture will run from 12noon until 4:00pm. After a Q&A session, we will head into Pt. Reyes National Seashore to capture sunset and put our newfound knowledge to the test.
You can bring any compact | point-&-shoot camera to this workshop. The best option (although not required) would be a digital SLR with a few lenses, a tripod (optional), and a comfortable carrying bag. Please bring comfortable hiking or walking shoes, a bag lunch, and a warm jacket and hat.
Join us for a wonderful day of learning and camaraderie amidst the California coast.
