"Pity the Nation" by Lawrence Ferlinghetti
Apparently, this is a newer poem by Ferlinghetti, and I think it's as good as his best stuff. He still has it! Unfortunately, I don't know what book, if any, this is from, so I cannot cite it. Please forgive me this oversight.
