The end of the third week of NaNoWriMo is approaching, and I am terribly behind schedule. I have been spending so much time thinking about what needs to happen in the rest of my novel, that I haven't actually had the time to write anything down. I feel like I've made some progress today, however, so I need to just keep plugging along. I finally surpassed the half-way mark today. I am currently at 25,292 words. Hopefully, I will be able to write some more before the end of the day today.
I will need to write about 4,000 words a day for the next eight days in order to be a "winner". Even though I feel like I've achieved a lot already, I would like to meet my goal. I have the entire next week off of work, so I should be able to make some progress. I am having problems focusing my thoughts on my storyline. I keep coming up with new ideas for stories, and I lose my focus thinking about those exciting new ideas. It's hard work to keep my mind on this current story, but I will need to do it if I want to finish. All in all, it's very good practice, and an amazing learning experience for me. I really hope to continue writing consistently after NaNoWriMo is over. And I hope to try again next year as well. The end is in sight, I just need to buckle down and focus!
