I've made it halfway through National Novel Writing Month, and I am running a little behind schedule. I'm at about 21,000 words tonight, and I should be at around 28,000 words. I fell behind last week, as I wasn't feeling well and didn't have the opportunity to write as much as I had planned. I made up for a lot of lost time yesterday. I got about 7,000 words written in just a few hours. Hopefully I can just plug away tonight and catch up a bit more. I did take off all of Thanksgiving week, so I should be able to get some serious writing done in my free time.
It's interesting to watch my novel unfold. My last chapter turned out to be around 30 pages, so I went in and broke it up a bit today. It was easier to write than the rest of the book, and it seemed to tie into the theme of my novel very well. I hadn't planned it out completely, but I kept thinking how well the theme of my novel related to what was occurring in that chapter. I can't wait to see what is in store for my characters by the end of the novel. I have a rough outline, but I have not been able to pin down all of the events that will occur during the climax. We'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out!
