Today, I finally finished the ending to my NaNoWriMo novel. My final word count is 76,654. It is 27 chapters long, and 260 paperback-sized pages. I'm amazed that I've even been able to put that many words together.
Now that I have a rough draft finished, I'm going to take the advice of others and put it away for a month or two. I can start working on some other works, and there are some writing books that I'd like to read. Then I'll come back on work on my second draft. I'm very happy with my novel so far, but we'll have to see how it goes with the editing process. I've never been too keen on editing before, but hopefully I can push through and get my novel ready for others to read.
I've found a really cool tool on the internet called Evernote. It's been really helpful in organizing all of my notes for my novel. I'd highly recommend using it. You can tag your various entries and then search for them easily. It even can search handwritten notes that you can upload with your phone or through email. It's a great tool...check it out at www.evernote.com.
