Sarah Martin Byrd is a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature. In 2010 she completed three months of social marketing training for authors. She is a published novelist, newspaper columnist, former Advertising Manager for a regional newspaper, and has over twenty years of marketing experience.
Lucky Press, LLC of Athens, Ohio traditionally published her novel, "Guardian Spirit," in September 2010. It has received acclaim from Midwest Book Review, MS. Magazine, and Elevated Difference. You can find the reviews and her weekly blog on her website. Sarah has promoted the novel at book signings all over North Carolina. She speaks at schools, book clubs, bookstores, festivals, and libraries
"In The Coal Mine Shadows," as yet unpublished or marketed, is Sarah’s first novel. It placed in the top 30 of 400 entries in The 2009 Santa Fe Writers Project. It “stood out as an example of excellence in the craft of writing,” according to Project Director Andrew Gifford.
Sarah is currently working on her fourth novel, "The River Keeper" while she markets her latest work, "The Color of My Heart." Below is a review from one of the few people Sarah has shared "The Color of My Heart" with.

Sarah lives at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina with her husband of 36 years. Her only daughter and grandchild live close by. When not creating new stories she loves camping, canoeing, fishing and spending time with her family.
