The world is coming to an end and the cause is gay marriage. Here at the epicenter of gay life, San Francisco, we have been watching civilization collapse for years, and there is no doubt in my mind about the cause: gay rights. When I was young, we were clear on where we stood when it came to homosexuality—no one talked about it. Why? Because we knew it was wrong. But that was back when there were no problems in America. Since that time everything has gone haywire. It all started with disco, which, by the way, you can hear emanating from the bars in San Francisco’s Castro district any night of the week. And now gay people want the right to get married just like everyone else, spurning, for some reason, California’s offer of the separate but equal status of civil unions. What’s next? A black president? A Latina Supreme Court justice? How far will this insanity go before we realize that we, as Americans, are losing the freedom we so cherish?
