“The Way is joyful – let us share it.
“The Way is ours alone – let us go in love.
“The Way grows before us – let us begin.”
What do we mean by “new beginnings?” My guess is that it means we have an opportunity to make things right. Life is all about choices made and paths not taken and, above all a chance to get things back on track.
Who says destiny controls us? We are in an age of limitless opportunities, if we would only look beyond the now, if we would open our eyes to the possibilities. In our search for the meaning of life, what really has meaning for us? Why are we here? Think about it…
Meaning for you may be searching out of new friends; taking the French class that is always a bit out of reach; writing the book that is beckoning in the far distant future. Or, perhaps, it is focusing on spiritual values, giving to, caring for, and loving one another, relating so that we learn to be happier with ourselves, more forgiving and giving to others. If you will, a loving spirit. Too tired, too much on our plates? We are what is holding us back.
Celebrate life! Love your friends, love your family. Appreciate living in a land that offers freedom from oppression, the right to make personal choices. To be free of tyranny, and poverty. To lead our young people toward a better life.
Robot vacuum cleaners. Autos with name recognition. Appliances that can do everything but serve food on the table. Man has created an environment of such magical proportions that it is beyond one’s imagination to envision what the future will bring. Would that our ancestors were here to witness it. Just imagine.
Eurdora Welty said it all so well in her exquisitely told memoir, “One Writer’s Beginnings.” It is this Pulitzer-prize-winner’s tale of how she has woven the threads of her life into the fabric of her fiction. Think about it.
