Sage Vivant's Biography

Sage Vivant "invented" herself when she opened her business, Custom Erotica Source, in 1998.

Having become disenchanted with her career as a banking supervisor for the federal government, she wanted to help people enjoy their sexual fantasies and she also wanted to write. She combined these two goals by opening her tailor-made fiction service and operated it until December 2007.

During that decade, Sage wrote more than 1,000 stories for various clients and employed several staff writers to help her meet the erotic fiction needs of her clientele. She also discovered that people's fantasies ran an even wider gamut than she'd ever imagined -- and that certain trends and categories were evident in the kinds of reading material they wanted.

So, she wrote a book about the erotic "personalities" she observed during her decade of writing for people, and that book -- Your Erotic Personality: Identifying and Understanding Your Sexual Self -- came out from Berkley Books in April 2007.

During her years as the owner of Custom Erotica Source, Sage also co-edited several erotica anthologies with her partner, author M. Christian:

Sage's stories have appeared in dozens of erotica anthologies, she's been interviewed on television, radio, magazines, newspapers, and blogs, and she hosts two podcasts: "Four Minutes, Once a Week" and "Your Erotic Personality." Her stories can also be heard on Playboy Radio's "Sexy Stories" show. She is the voice on and author of the story on British recording artist/producer David Courtney's CD, "Sex with a Stranger," due for re-release under a new record label in 2008.

Sage is also the author of the parody blog, "Amalgamated Erotica Corporation," which is a fictional spoof of her erotica "factory."
