Grow With Me, A Collection of Poems Dedicated to my Son, Alex
A mother's anguished screams fill the silence
She puts her hands to her mouth
Trying to stifle the noise
My God My God My God
There is no other pain comparable to this
That she can imagine.
She looks around confusedly
To see where the noise is from
Then she realizes it's hers
She bows her head
In pain
In silence
In surrender
