Why are we here in this heap of "Big Boomer" or, excuse me "Baby Boomer" next morning discard without a paddle? Or is it -Yes you are going to learn to accept the fact that the world is warming and will most likely be uninhabitable by, say, 2030, thanks Al- really appreciate that!. That is if we make it past Nostradamus's prediction that we won't need to care about temperature after 2012. How about we just start taking boats instead of airliners since Jihad has developed such hot spot for sending them and all their western occupants into flaming oblivion. On a lighter note- if you talk on your phone while you're driving, you will be cited and ticketed. Also, I don't care if you blow a .000000001 you will be incarcerated and spend the next five years, with all of your parents financial and emotional wherewith-all, squeezing out from it.
On the bright side, these kids have no place to go but up. Starting below ground zero has always been such a precursor for perseverance to the extreme. For those who can pull themselves to see at least a glimmer of light, bravo! When I came out into the work world in 1983 we were just pulling out of a recession. The word recession didn't seem like what it seems to refer to today-"ARMAGEDDON" I surely don't remember creepy shadows lurking around every corner waiting to blow you and themselves up. Didn't ever enter my mind that the ocean may begin to boil and half the species on earth would parish in my young life time. No, it was a struggle but nothing nearing the level of financial discord and bleak future promise permeating the general psyche of our up and coming hopefuls today.
More power to the young socially conscious minds of our day, I hope their generation proves to be the turning point in a decades long deterioration of simple pleasures. Maybe they can slow down our locust like consumption affliction leaving something to lose, when the time comes!
