AND THEN THEY WERE GONE: Children of Peoples Temple - San Francisco to Jonestown --- by Judy Bebelaar and Ron Cabral
These are some of the photos we hope to include in our book which is in final edit and should be available for publication by the end of 2011. Not all the students shown attended Opportunity High but have something to do with the story. Many of those shown did attend and were in one of my classes or played on the baseball team. Some were students of my co-writer Judy Bebelaar. We didn't know all the kids from Peoples Temple who enrolled en masse in 1976, but we did know and worked with at least 40 of them - could be more. We did ask the San Francisco schools to verify attendance of enrollment but we were refused access to those records since we are not relatives of any of them. Also note the photos from Al Mills who was a Temple photographer - those would have appeared in "The Peoples Forum" the Peoples Temple newspaper or in the book "Six Years With God" by his wife Jeannie Mills.
