I’m a writer and anthropologist, skills I combined as the editor of Indians of the Northwest (Discovery Enterprises, Ltd.), an anthology in the words of tribal people. A half dozen of my speculative and ethnic stories are available on the internet by googling my name. After a varied life teaching in the inner city in Washington, D.C. and later finding that my anthropology degree barely paid off, I shifted to cultural journalism, first in Oregon and now in Mexico. These days I do about half my talking and reading in Spanish, but continue to write in English.
