I was interviewed this week by talkradioeurope about my latest book,“Coffee,Castanets and Don Quixote”. This came about from an email I received a few weeks ago from Rod Younger who runs the website“Books4Spain” which is the No.1 site for books about Spain in English. He asked if he could market my book on his website. Of course I agreed. He is an interesting figure himself with Scottish connections. In his own words:
As an aside, Younger is a scottish name and my g, g, ,g ,g (I think its 4
greats!) grandfather Charles (plus 2 brothers) left Scotland for Jamaica in
1700s and his son came to Spain in 1814. It is in fact my grandmothers
name as my father thought Rodrigo Manso de Zuniga Younger was a bit of a
mouthful for the english when he went to live there in 1950s)
The book seems to have been well received on both sides of the Atlantic. It seems to be especially liked by people who want an instant experience of what it is like to be in one of Spain`s great cities without necessarily bothering with tickets, passports etc. The interview asked me to repeat one of the most popular stories from the book.about how I encountered Europe`s most incompetent mugger in Barcelona. We are gettinga review of it published soon by Molly Piccavey who runs the wonderful website about Spain athttp://www.piccavey.com
