I've been writing a long time. At age 14 I was editor of the newsletter at church camp, publishing it with typewriter stencil sheets and the ol’ mimeograph machine (remember those?) I was co-editor of my high school’s yearbook; I've written and published newsletters for business clients; In the late 1970s I was a beat writer for a weekly newspaper. In the ’90s I was a contributing writer for Omaha Magazine, writing primarily on the history of Omaha, Nebraska, and the surrounding area. I also began freelancing and sold articles to several periodicals
Wife Carol and I are property catastrophe insurance adjusters and for the last 15 years we’ve traveled around the U.S. to “work” hurricanes and hail storms. Our assignments usually last 3 to 6 months and when we finish we stay around for a few days and play tourists.
