Dad checked out of the hospital today.
Many little findings that all contribute to dizzy spells and losing his balance.
Medication is given to aid but a conscious effort on his part is necessary.
He arrives home and settles back into his favorite chair.
He has quickly forgotten the reason why he checked in.
Stands up on his own and falls.
Just as I decide to ring him, help is in a panic quickly relaying to me that he had fallen.
I call his doctor. I write down the instructions and get back to him with updates.
Dad does not like to have a caregiver lingering around him.
He is used to his own personal help, unfortunately Daisy is no match to his weight.
Loren his personal secretary is no match either.
So I insist to him that he consider taking in a male nurse.
He replies, “I’m ok now, I’ll just sit down.”
I say, “ok, so do you think you can remember not to attempt standing up too quickly on your own?”
Fr. Marty will visit this afternoon upon dad’s request.
I whisper to myself, “preparing his soul for eternal happiness? I’m sure mom is delighted and waiting.”
I wonder what goes through the mind of an elderly.
Daisy sent Fr. Marty off with a container of freshly baked Lasagna.
So grateful we have a direct link to the gates of heaven.
I hope the warm Lasagna helps!
