Exciting news! Red Room has added email notifications for new comments. Now, every time someone comments on one of your blog entries, videos, podcasts, etc., you'll get an email telling you about it. And if you comment on someone else's content, you'll get an email when someone else does, too.
We've been eager to add this feature to Red Room for quite some time. It's going to make keeping up with your favorite authors and members so much easier. Now, instead of trying to remember all the conversations you've joined, Red Room will remember them for you!
If you don't want to get email notifications, or if you want to get them less frequently, you can manage them by going to your Account Settings page. First, choose My Account Settings from the Me dropdown menu:
On the Account Settings page, click "Edit Basic Information" (your page won't have a photo of me):
The messaging and notifications settings are at the bottom of the Basic Information editing page (please disregard the nonfunctioning "Mime Mail" section):
Use the "Default send interval" dropdown menu to choose how often you want to be notified via email. Select "Never" if you don't want to be notified at all:
As always, remember to click "Submit" to save your changes.
I hope you'll email us at support@redroom.com with questions and feedback about this new feature, and that you'll enjoy better and more immediate conversations and connections every day on Red Room.

I welcome this addition,
I welcome this addition, Huntington/Bill. It will save a lot of time scrolling through the blog pages.
We're absolutely delighted!
We're so glad we got this feature functioning (big thanks to Red Room's Abraham Mertens for working very hard on this project), and we'll be ironing out a few very minor kinks in the next couple of days.
We'll all be able to keep in much better touch with Notifications. It really is great news.
Thanks, Ellen, for your note--and thanks, Huntington for posting these instructions.
Best regards,
Charles Purdy, Red Room
This is just what I was
This is just what I was looking for. But my inbox is empty! Waiting...thanks Huntington and the RR team.

Huntington, now that I've
Huntington, now that I've used the new feature for about 24 hours, I'm wondering whether it's possible to format the notifications in a single e-mail message for those of us who opt not for immediate notification, but for daily or longer? I'm imagining one message with all the links, but just one link per blog that is updated with new comments.
For example, if I post a response to one of Mary Wilkinson's blogs, log off for the day, and then both Luciana Lhullier and Mary later chime in (but within the 24-hour cycle), I'd get just one message (rather than two) linking me back to Mary's blog. Once I'm there, I can read all the other updates.
My e-mail box was loaded with RR messages this morning!!!
Great question!
Yes! Please see the last illustration in the blog post. The dropdown menu allows you to receive a digest at different intervals so you're not deluged with email messages throughout the day.

Yes, that's what I've
Yes, that's what I've elected, Huntington. But I'm getting e-mail messages for every single response, even when it is to the same blog. Is it possible to program the notifications for one e-mail message per blog per day?
Not yet
Ellen, we're refining this feature, and I'll definitely put yours on the list of changes. Thanks, you're helping us make this work better for everyone.

I just checked my e-mail
I just checked my e-mail notification elections, and sometime between when I set them to "daily" yesterday and looked at them just now, they reverted to the default of "immediately." Maybe that is why I'm getting so many notices.
So I'm resetting to "daily," and we'll see if it sticks.
That is so very cool.
That is so very cool. Gracias :-)

Yes!
I have been waiting for this feature-- thank you! I hate the thought of letting a comment someone was kind enough to leave for me, whether at my blog or theirs, go unanswered. This will make it so much easier. Thanks again!

I like it!
Hi Huntington,
Thanks to you and the gang for setting this up. I saw a post or two about it and then noticed the messages in my inbox. It's a great feature!
Chris
Cool!
I love this new feature - thank you! So often I've missed a comment and must have looked as though I was rudely ignoring someone, whereas now I can respond straight away.
wao
it is a good development at last you will know what people are saying about you,at least for you to adjust or remain adamant
Alas
It seems I am denied accss to my own account setting page. Is there a special incantation I need to perform to get authorization? I'd like to receive notification of "blog of the week" topics before the fact.
