Nocturne I

The giraffe’s leg was tied to an abandoned car.  Two sets of large lions begin circling together. A blue sky, just before darkness settles upon the quiet.  I want to go outside.  Awaiting his arrival, we go out and as I close the door behind me, the sky has become darker.  A large raccoon is scared by us.  I run back to the step where a hoard of small mice follow and begin circling.  They are trying to get up on the step with me.  A big rat comes from the right and latches onto my back.  I’m frightened.  To whomever is with me, I say, “get it off of me!”  I don’t want to be bitten.

& then

Black silhouette like symbols one after the other, like an old movie projector. I see buffalo in black.  I become lucid and begin imagining what they must have gone through.

I'm assuming you're dreaming

I'm assuming you're dreaming here, Rebb? If so, what an intense one. The rat on your back gave me the shivers. Creepy!

Hi Dorraine, nice to see you

Hi Dorraine, nice to see you :) Yes, that was actually a dream from the past that I had recorded in my dream journal. Mary’s blog “Tornado Dreams” got me thinking of my dream journal again. I used to be better about jotting down all my dreams, but I’ve broken the habit. I’ve had a few that stay in my memory. When I went to this dream, what I found interesting is that another dream that is one that I still think about had the same “latching on” but it was a cat and it latched to my chin. Anyway…I’m glad to hear you got the shivers; maybe I can work this into a short Poe-esque piece for Halloween!

"What do you think others

"What do you think others are doing? Just putting their nightmares on film." I like that Hombre. There are some movies where that seems to be the case. I'm glad you could "see" the dream. Even though a few of my dreams have been particularly disturbing, I'm glad I wrote them down!
