I don’t think I would have ever chosen this book, but I can’t say for sure. I received it as a gift and am so thankful that I did. The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein was an immense joy to read, and who could resist a book with Enzo, the dog, as its narrator?—a convincing one at that. The first line whisked me right in: “Gestures are all that I have; sometimes they must be grand in nature.”
I laughed, and little did I know that I would I cry, several times, but it felt so good. Good story; a quick read, but one that sticks with you.
