"Why do you like to write?"
I said this as I stared at the guy in the mirror. Pondering this question I asked of myself, the guy in the mirror answered back.
I like to write to create pictures in the minds of my readers. I want to tap into their own imaginations and attempt to let them form the picture in their mind of the story I am writing about. It is said that "a picture is worth a thousand words". I would like to think that in a thousand words, I can also create a picture where there isn't one. It is my art, and my way of expressing my inner creativity. I was once questioned as to who in my life was represented by the characters in my story. There is most often nobody, simply because they have no more been created than when an artist's brush touches the paint to the blank canvas for the first time. I create as I go and the character becomesssss....
If I stare at an object; say a log, something simple like that, a story can form in minutes because the log becomes the foundation to a story that will be created out of my imagination. One day, a man was watching a mouse. The mouse became a character. Decades later we all visit Disney World and Disney Land because of that simple thought that became a picture, that became a story, that becameeeeeeeeee..........
I cannot draw to save my life, and so...self...when you ask me why I like to write.... I like to write because it is my way of creating that picture.
