We all want peace. Peace is prayed for on a daily basis, yet as a society we are in what the 80s group, "Quiet Riot," referred to as condition critical.
In 1966, Gene Roddenberry created "Star Trek." Just a TV show right? Ok, I'll agree to that, but let's break things down a little bit. Remove space from the show, and then remove the science and the ficition. Take away the Enterprise, and remove the whole plot of the story. What do you have?
You simply have a group of people that exist in the 23rd century and dress a little differently than we do today. But what else? What else was in the vision of a writer and creator in the year 1966?
Peace. Humans of every race, religion, color, etc., all co-existing and working together for a common goal. But the unique thing is that this was all visualized in the mind of Gene Roddenberry. So why aren't we as a society progressing to that point yet? There are times when I think that perhaps Gene was being generous to mankind in thinking that we will actually get there by then.
For now though, I guess we can cross our fingers and hope that man will learn that if you peel away skin, and flesh, our skeletons all look the same. Each of those skeletons has feeling and emotion. We've got a lot of work to do world. Don't ya think we might want to get started?
Peace to all!
