I am the author and editor of ten books, including EYES OF DESIRE 2: A DEAF GLBT READER (Handtype Press, 2007) and ASSEMBLY REQUIRED: NOTES FROM A DEAF GAY LIFE (RID Press, 2008). My first novel MEN WITH THEIR HANDS won first place in the Project: QueerLit 2006 Contest; Suspect Thoughts Press will publish the novel sometime in 2008. As a filmmaker, I've directed DVD collections of American Sign Language (ASL) stories as well as two full-length documentaries. As a playwright, I've had thirteen stage plays produced in three countries. Four of my full-length plays will be collected in PLAYING IT BY EYE: STAGE PLAYS ABOUT THE DEAF AMERICAN EXPERIENCE (Gallaudet University Press, 2009). My web site has more information about all my creative pursuits and then some!
Well, what do I like? Dogs (I own a terrier mix named Rocky), literature (poetry and fiction), art (paintings in particular), films (well, DVDs since they are closed-captioned or subtitled for information accessibility), travel, Deaf culture, Macintosh computers, good food, scooters (my Genuine Buddy 50cc runs great!), etc.
