Blog: whatever that is, I have never felt a particular affinity to or for, but I feel obligated to a dear, longtime friend, Belle Yang, to continue my journey into the 21th century. I once considered writing a piece about writers' relationships or friendships for Robert Sward down in Santa Cruz, but I've hesitated because it seemed too self-serving. Now, I see all these great writers blogging like crazy and I think, "Maybe this is a new form of writers' relationships." What I miss is the true entwining of personalities, bull shit and beer. Are we being led down the techological path and believing all the bill board slogans we pass that blogs, whatever they are, are good for us? My wife Barbara says she thinks blog stands for web log. Still, this entry is proof, for me at least, that considering what I've just written, it doesn't contain much.
