A collection of children's stories that won in the Palanca Awards. There's a wide range of stories here, most to do with aspects of Philippine culture. Some have to do with mythical creatures, some are historical, some deal with everyday Filipino life. Mine is "The Slipper." It's a takeoff on the story of Jose Rizal losing his slipper as a boy and is about to throw it away when a bright little girl stops him.

There's something for every kid here. While all the stories are set in the Philippines, I don't think you have to be Filipinos to enjoy them. The way these kid characters think and feel isn't much different from kids everywhere.
