Well, I slept after a long first day/night in Hong Kong. I spoke to one of the other students on the course and we plan to meet up for a pre-residency cuppa coffee to chat about writing writing writing and perhaps a little about each other... I slept in today - I didn't realise how tired I was until I tried to get up at 7am this morning. Instead I switched off my cellphone alarm and went back to sleep. Ordinarily I'd hit the snooze button and squeeze in another 10 minutes of napping-on-the-way-to-waking time. But I felt tired enough to skip the 10-minute cheat my wife hates me for doing most mornings. Bad habits die hard I guess.
In the meantime, back at the Hong Kong ranch I call my home (Apple Hostel's room is a little bigger than a double bed with a private shower and toilet and basin), I've written 2 small pieces so far this morning. One is about an older married guy from Bangladesh that I bumped into during a massage request from a lady with cleavage on one of the darkened alleys I happened to walk by. The other is about broken Crystal - a spam message I got in my junk email folder this morning.
I still have a lot of reading to do. But first some breakfast and a swim to unwind and relax some more before coming back here to read read read! Oh glorious lifestyle filled with reading and writing... I love it!
