The best bread I ever made rose while highlights of Mozart’s Don Giovanni filled the air—amorosity, betrayal, murder, and rascal lust went into that bread.

This story came out of my head in one swell foop while I was making bread and listening to Don Giovanni, the opera by Mozart. It was one of those times when it's best to get out of the way of the story, and let it just come. It was like taking dictation from some unseen story teller. I wish this would happen more often.
