Friday morning, on  my way to a meeting that’s an hour+ drive from home, some of those thoughts that only come along while doing 65 invaded my grainy brain:

What if McCain chose a woman as VP candidate?

He surely wouldn’t choose a woman just for the sake of supplying a fem. 

Then again, maybe he would appoint a woman from the roll of GOP women in the US Senate or Congress.  There were likely a few with enough stripes to show the Dems the GOP had women as worthy as Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I tried to come up with a few names: Dole or maybe Snow? 

Friday evening, at home, and going nowhere, I heard McCain had chosen a woman and immediately wished I’d made my whiz-bang highway thoughts public.  I’d appear to be so smart – well, except for the candidate.

No amount of driving would have made me think he’d select a woman with so little experience in government. 

Well, she has a few things going for her, she’s a fan of NRA, a demonstrated “pro-lifer”, and she’s perky as all get out.

And I feel like I just got all my birthday candle-blowing wishes for the last ten years:  McCain looks desparate and silly.
