Jack Kerouac reads On the Road
Jack Kerouac reads to a great jazz beat from his classic novel, On the Road. The novel reads better from his lips than it did from my brain. The ending is kind of sexist but I love the premise of the novel: traveling across America. Nowadays, if you told someone you wanted to hitchhike across America, they would probably think you were crazy! But in the late 40s/early 50s, it was THE way to travel. Further, what is ironic is that Kerouac was so conservative and yet wrote about such a laidback lifestyle. I need to rent the movie version of On the Road, and I hear that there's supposed to be a remake. Can't wait to see both movies!
