Around the World and back again
Joy seems to be a popular name today. I came across this blog entry on celebrated actress Joy Nash's website and I respect her for being honest about her struggles with a Christian faith, which is something that I dealt with for years before finally hearing from God. I believe that He's always been there but I was too busy living in the "world." Anyway, I also enjoyed her blog entry because she talks about her traveling experiences, which reminds me of this episode of MTV's True Life I was watching the other day.
In this episode, this guy from New York City decided to quit his job as a sports journalist, and travel around the world for 11 months. He visited every country from England to Nepal to India and Australia. His reason for this is that he didn't want to wake up 30 years from now, married with children and regret that he had never really lived as a young man. Well, the episode itself was kind of flat. I was thinking I was going to be watching something exciting, ala Jules Verne Around the World in 80 Days but instead, it was more like a video diary.
I don't know. I guess everyone's experiences are different. Anyway, here is the link to the Joy Nash blog entry:
I'm not really into myspace.com or facebook.com yet but it seems to a growing way that people communicate and chat with one another. So, who knows? Maybe someday I will get into that stuff but for now, I'm going to pass. Anyway, if everyone has any exciting travel experiences that they would like to share, feel free to leave a comment. Other than that, have a great week, month, year and do something fun and positive in 2009.
Until Next Time,
