Former shut-in and author Salman Rushdie will be in town next week for some appearances. While he's here, I'll be having an informal chat with Rushdie, author most famously of "The Satanic Verses" and the man who introduced the cold concept of fatwa to most of Western culture. His latest book, is "The Enchantress of Florence" and he also acts in the recent film "And Then She Found Me."
Rusdhie led a secluded life surrounded by security and secrecy after the former ruler of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, put out a hit on him. Since his coming out, he's been much more of a bon vivant, out and about in society. Aside from being a towering intellectual, Rushdie is slightly less known as someone with a hilarious sense of humor.
If you have questions you'd like me to ask him, please post them in the comments, and I'll get to as many as I can in the interview.
