Well, now that we've gotten the explosive topics of both race and gender out on the messy table of debate in this presidential election, what previously taboo topics are left?
The answer is violence against candidates for high office.
Should we avoid talking about that because they then it's more likely to come true? No, that's just superstition. And we're late to the discussion anyway.
Mike Huckabee joked about an Obama assassination and people were momentarily horrified. Then Hillary Clinton referred to Obama and Bobby Kennedy's fateful California primary in the same breath. More hand-wringing and excoriation, aimed, it seems, at Clinton and not so much the topic itself.
