NICOLAE AND ELENA CEAUSESCU
(Looking at a newspaper photograph of their execution - 12/25/89)
in death
they do not look
like tyrants
slumped against
that wall,
eyes closed
no more evil
than any two
elderly shoppers
caught
at day's end—
wiped out.

NICOLAE SI ELENA CEAUSESCU
(Privind o fotografie din ziar care înfatiseaza
executia lor - 25 decembrie 1989)
morti
ei nu mai par
a fi tirani
prabusiti lânga
acel zid
cu ochii-nchisi
nu mai sunt întruparea Raului
ci doar doi
batrâni plecati la cumparaturi
surprinsi
la amurgul vietii -
adica lichidati.

Yes, I certainly do! And I also am an admirer of much of Cohen's work.
Thank you for your comment. I would have responded sooner, but this is the first I knew of it. There must have been a glitch because I never got an email.
Best,
Peggy
