There is a geometry to any presumed act of observation. To observe an object, one has to be outside of it, separate from it. But there can be no true separation: this Universe that you are has no holes of nothingness to separate itself from itself.
Without a margin of nothingness between a Subject and an Object, there is no Subject and there is no Object. Every Subject is inseparably linked to, connected to, and integrated into each and every Object of its interest.
Thus, all observation of the external is an act of self-observation. All observation of the outer is a study of the inner. Observation is introspection, a subjective study of Self by self, of Brahman by Atman.
Realize: whatever you “observe,” see, smell, hear, touch, sense is you, is me, is us.
But while the Universe is beyond observation it is certainly not beyond Self-awareness, let alone self-awareness.
