Paul Myers was born in Toronto, Canada where he began as a songwriter and musician before adding journalist and broadcaster to his business card. He has written for a wide array of periodicals including Canada's Globe and Mail, the San Francisco Chronicle, Vancouver's Georgia Straight and the SF Bay Guardian. In 2001, his first full length book, the music biography Barenaked Ladies: Public Stunts, Private Stories was released (first in Canada by Madrigal Press/Raincoast, then two years later as a special US updated edition by Simon & Schuster's Fireside imprint). His critically acclaimed 2007 work, It Ain't Easy: Long John Baldry and the Birth of the British Blues (D&M/ Greystone Books) earned four stars in MOJO magazine, an honor he recently received again for his most recent book, A Wizard A True Star: Todd Rundgren In The Studio (Jawbone Press), a look at the recording studio history of record producer Todd Rundgren. He has recently been a contributor to Crawdaddy online. Myers currently lives in Berkeley, California with Liza Algar, and their excessively demanding cat, "Buddy Guy".
