Patrick Sherriff's Biography

Member Info

Aug 2008

I spent 13 years in the world of newspaper journalism, starting as an obituary and weather report writer for the Log Cabin Democrat in Arkansas, USA. I've worked for magazines and newspapers in Britain, most recently the Derby Evening Telegraph, and also spent three years as an internet bookdealer specialising in crime fiction. In Japan, I taught business English in Tokyo for Berlitz School of Languages and worked as a copy editor for the Daily Yomiuri. I have a BA in American Studies and British History from the University of Reading in Britain, and a Cambridge/RSA Certificate in Teaching English to Adults from International House, London. I currently live outside Tokyo with my wife and two daughters and run our own English school out of our front room. I prefer the Stones to the Beatles, I like cheese, but hate natto. What more do you need to know? Nothing really, but check out my blog anyway for musings about life, the universe and living in Japan at http://tower-tales.blogspot.com/
