Patrick "Packy" Mader will begin his spring and summer programs near his roots, at Trista Days on Saturday, May 16. Minnetrista is a city between the towns of Mound and St. Bonifacius and is where the farm is located that Packy lived and worked at for many years. Please come and celebrate rural traditions and meet with Packy and share your own stories!
The Heartwarming Stories of the Heartland theme will be returning to the roots of the real Opa and Oma on Thursday, June 25 at the library in Mason City, Iowa. This appearance will include two presentations, one at 1:30 p.m., the other at 3:00 p.m.
In July Packy begins a Northwoods Tour in northern Minnesota. Tentative locations for booksignings and programs will be Grand Rapids, Virginia, and Park Rapids. These beautiful towns and their surroundings offer visitors wonderful vacation opportunities. As always, please visit Heartland Stories of the Heartland for more information about events, testimonials, and endorsements.
Finally, Packy has been invited to present at the prestigious Hamline Summer Literacy Institute on Monday, July 13, to an audience of K-6 teachers about the topic of Remembering Rural Minnesota: Books with Teaching Moments, which will feature his own and touch on others by Minnesota authors.
