Taboo defined as an adjective, forbidden or disapproved of; placed under a social prohibition or ban (in Polynesia and other islands of the South Pacific) marked off as simultaneously sacred and forbidden; a noun, any prohibition resulting from social or other conventions; ritual restriction or prohibition, esp of something that is considered holy or unclean; a verb, to place under a taboo.
What comes to your mind when you think of things that are harmful to yourself and others? What aftershocks have you experienced because of harmful things done to yourself by yourself or others?
This year 2010! We must see this as a new dawn to "RISE" out of and above the shackles that keep us bound. These shackles are on and in the imagery of our mind! As a part of mankind we are perpetually changing. The laws of natural selection operate with or without our cooperation! Thus, change is inevitable and your obligation to participate in the process. This requires a conscious choice to remain fixed or to become fluid and pour and repour yourself into the next vessel, vehicle and shift that is presented. We must free our minds through spiritual intimacy with God! Intimacy that praises, worships and magnifies one that is greater than the created and collective body of folk. We fail to learn when we worship ourselves; through God we gain wisdom and knowledge which converts to understanding! Above all get an understanding we are told!
Understanding that is amassed from teaching, correction, and guidance into all Truth! God is the only one who can permanently replace the bitterness that becomes like mildew on the grout between the tiles of our lifes' story! Whatever has been done to you and by you that fits under the confines of taboo in your cultural reference point will ultimately be the chains of bondage on your mind! We need a sweet savor to enter our senses through every means of recovering of sight, because we are blinded by who we are to become often by what has been done against us and by us! In comes forgiveness of self and others like a dashing king on a white stallion with red roses braided into its' mane, with a scent of rose on his coat. Love has found its' way back to you seated on the back of this magnificent animal! The King invites you to the Palace, but will you come in his presence wearing mildewed garments or will you dip your garments in the blood of the Lamb that removes the mildew and restores the garment to its' original grandness!
When you make that decision the room fills with a familiar fragrance that is sweet to the senses and enlightens the heart with the sweet savor of love divine! To experience this love divine one must forgive as they have been forgiven, to forgive is divine, and to be divine is to be God-like. When we forgive we are being as God would have us to be, he has forgiven us of much and to hold unforgiveness as if it is your birth right is far from divine! Change is all around us ~ we must change to walk in newness of life, to have a new heart, new mind and new spirit, all require change! How long will we stand halted between two opinions?
Either you love God with all of you or you remain as one who sees the relationship of intimacy with God as an observer! This year let's rejoice in the divine nature of God! Kirk Franklin sings a song that Declares: "This Is It" & Imagine Me, which are both songs that speak to a decision made to no longer stand halted between two opinions! The taboos are the things that have been done to you and by you that make you feel unworthly and diminished! It is time for your red carpet debut into all that you were designed to be in the presence of God our King! Only what you do for Christ will last!
