I'm a writer and visual artist, the author of books and essays for both mainstream and educational publishers. My husband, Wim Coleman, and I often collaborate, and together we've written, edited, or contributed to some 65 publications. Earlier on, I spent some years on a Shenandoah Valley farm, raising and training horses, learning about self-sufficiency on the land with the help of other artists and several energetic teenagers. After that, I got a couple of graduate degrees, drove to L.A., met and married author Wim Coleman — and we've been working together creatively for more than two decades. We recently returned from 13 years in Mexico—moved back to Chapel Hill NC with our daughter Monse.
