Why do we join anonymous internet groups ? Do we want more random emails? probably not. Do we think we're going to make friends from the membership? well, maybe. but probably not.
I think it has to be something we need. In my case, I'd like to make contacts with agents, publishers, people who can make me a lot smarter about the business of this writing business.
