I think love of country is important. Having pride in your country is important. But blindly believing in your country to the point you can't admit there are problems, is ridiculous. Patriotism doesn't mean blind obedience or acceptance. The whole point of the formation of the United States and one of the reasons they rebelled is the pursuit of freedom of thought and speech. To now say, 'Love America MY way, or leave it' is the antithesis of the founding force behind its creation.

To criticize your country is unpatriotic? That's absurd. I say if you don't believe in full on freedom of the press and freedom of speech, then perhaps you're the one who should 'leave it' and go someplace where that isn't allowed. Try Iran. Or maybe North Korea. Their governments love blind patriotism.
