One year, seven months, and eight days ago, I got married for the first time. At the age of 51.
In the months leading up to the wedding, a lot of people said I was brave to take on this new way of life. After all, it would be difficult to adapt to having another person in my daily life. Those people were wrong. Being married is a snap. Saying “my husband” is a thrill.
Getting married was another story.
