I am a freelance book editor, working with new or established writers on their book projects: fiction or nonfiction, proposals or manuscripts. Recently published books include Adventures Among Ants, by Mark Moffett; Kingdom of Simplicity, by Holly Payne, Snap Out of It? A Quick Guide to Overcoming Panic and Anxiety, by Judson Rothschild, and From the Shtetl to America, by Joshua Rassen. The latter two books were self-published, so in addition to conceptual and substantive line editing, my work entailed copy editing and proofreading. For ten years, I was the literary and arts editor at San Francisco magazine, the Bay Area's premier city and regional magazine. I assigned and edited feature stories and all the cultural coverage--essays on the arts, book, movie, theater, and music reviews--and wrote many pieces myself. (See links.) Now I'm a contributing writer. I also lead book groups at my local bookstore, Book Passage, in which we talk about a book for an first hour, then discuss it with the writer in the second hour. I also teach there from time to time. See my website for more info: www.pamelafeinsilber.com.
